Lisa Harper & David Meece

I have had a busy but fun weekend. On Friday, I joined Lisa Harper in Russellville, KY. She had a speaking engagement at a little country church up there. It was great to get to know her better. We got to sit next to each other on a flight to Nashville a couple of times and I have seen her at Women Of Faith in passing but it was great to spend some time together. We have so much in comon so it made for great conversation and a really enjoyable trip. I really enjoyed getting to listen to her speak. She knows the scripture so well and is a great story teller. She weaves the storys with her humor and could keep anyones attention. She really has a way of making it so you can find yourself in scripture. She has such a great heart for people. It was a very enjoyable weeknd. I have read some of her books and would highly recommend them to you. Check out her online store at her website.
Yesterday afternoon, I braved the weather and drove to Paris, TN. It is about 2 1/2 hours away from Nashville. David Meece was in concert. I have wanted to see him in concert so many times but have never had the opportunity. Every time he is in concert here I’m usually traveling so I miss him. I got a little turned around but made it in time for the concert. I was a little nervous about the weather since it was suppose to snow but I made it home last night before it stated to snow. It was an enjoyable evening. David sang and shared his testimony. He is so animated (which I knew from his live album from the 80’s). I got to meet him afterwards. I grew up on his music and have been a fan for years so it was so nice to get to meet him. Part of me was scared to take the trip since I don’t like driving where I have never been but it was good to get out of my comfort zone and get out there. I am so glad that I went. This was a great couple of days!
I just finished Sheila Walsh’s brand new book “Beautiful Things Happen When A Woman Trusts God”. It was really good. Sheila shares her journey in learning to trust God and takes a number of Biblical characters and what they taught her about trusting God. I would recommend it to all. I also just finished Nate Sallie’s book “Sing Through Me”. It is the stories behind the songs from his album “Ruined For Ordinary”. It was a great book. I went through it like daily devotional. I would recommend it to all Nate Sallie fans.

Leave Your Legacy

I have joined forces with my good friend Ronda Sherrick in her business called Leave Your Legacy. Ronda started Leave Your Legacy with a vision to help people do just that. She interviews people and puts together video presentations for families so when loved ones pass on, their memories and legacy are left behind for the family.
I have joined Leave Your Legacy as the photo organizer and preserver. I can scan slides, negatives and photos on to discs to be preserved and kept. I understand that most people don’t have time to go to Walmart or Target and sit there and scan photos. I used to do this and it would take hours. Also once you have cropped the picture the way you want it, the machines would often re-crop them and does not allow you to fix it. It can be very frustrating. People also have boxes of slides taking up space in closets. I am finishing up a project for a friend. I took her parents 2100 slides and scanned them to discs and am now editing them. Her family is so excited to have the pictures. They can then take the discs to a store and make prints. Once the items have been scanned, I can provide basic editing to correct bad color or remove dust spots. To see more about what services Leave Your Legacy offers, check out our website at:  http://www.leaveyourlegacy.org/. Click on Photo Services to read more about what I can do and to see some examples. Let me help you leave your legacy for years to come.

Sacramento, CA

This last weekend, Sheila and I went to Sacramento for an event at Bayside Church in the Roseville area. We had a blast. It was a lot of fun. The church was supper orginized and everything went so smoothly. It was a great event and everyone seemed to be so touched by what Sheila shared.
I was able to get a sneak peek at Sheila’s new worship CD called “I Hear Angles”. It is really good and it isn’t finished yet. I can’t wait to hear the final product. Look for it in March at www.sheilawalsh.com.
I came home to a snow storm. It started just before we took off for CA. We got out before they closed the airport. I wish I could have been able to be there for it but at least I get to see it. I had to carve my car out of it when I got back. The roads are mostly clear. They are saying we may get another snow storm this weekend so we shall see. I don’t have to go anywhere this weekend so hopefully it’s true!

Moorstown, NJ

This last weekend, Sheila Walsh and I went to Moorstown, NJ where Sheila was speaking. Moorstown is about 3o  minuites from Philidelphia. We had a lot of fun. The people at the church were so nice and friendly and everyone seemed to really enjoy the event. The comment I got was that it far exceeded their expectations. Yeah God!!
I finished the “God Has A Dream For Your Life” audio book on my trip. The number one thing that I got out of the book, besides what I shared before, is that, just like the wicked witch of the west, the devil can’t touch us and doesn’t have power over us but he banks on our ignorance and the fact that we don’t seem to realize this. I need a new reminder each day of this. I give in to stuff to easily and quickly! The only power the devil has over me is what I give him. Good reminder!
I got a copy of Sheila’s new book and it is all about TRUST. Boy have been having such a hard time trusting the Lord the last 10 years. This book seems very timely. Sheila told me that she has never been so personally connected to a book that she has written before. I can’t wait to start it.
This weekend we will be in Roseville, CA at Bayside for an event. Contact the church for tickets or more information.

Insights form God Has A Dream For Your Life

I have decided to go back over Sheila Walsh’s book “God Has A Dream For Your Life” with the unabridged audio book (avalible to download from itunes right now for only $4.95). I read this book back in 2007 for one of my required reading books for Women Of Faith. In chapter one Sheila shares the story of when Paul, Silas, Timothy & Luke when to visit Philipi. A women who has been possessed by an evil spirit was following them shouting this is Paul servant of the most high God. When Paul cast out the spirit her masters became mad since they could no longer make money off of her. They reported them to the officials saying that they were causing a riot. Paul and Silas were arrested, beaten severely and thrown in jail. The thing that got me was that Sheila pointed out that, that night they began to praise the Lord in their trouble and not question why he would allow that to happen to them while they were serving the Lord. When I was in the Philippines with YWAM, I came back burned out and tired of picking up my cross and following the Lord. I have laid down my cross and it has been so hard to pick it back up. I am so quick to get angry at the Lord and question His wisdom. I’m not even sure what all is going on in my head but I know that I do feel I was neglected. How could God allow this to happen to Me when I’m serving you is something that I have asked so many times. Paul and Silas had a very different approach. Oh Lord forgive me for not picking up my cross and following you but allowing the circumstances of this life to get me down. Remind me to Praise your name in every situation and to drag my will back in line with your will. I need to obey and follow you no matter what happens.

The Heartache No One Sees by Sheila Walsh

Last night I was having a hard time sleeping so I finished the book “The Heartache No One Sees” by Sheila Walsh. This was an awesome book. Through the book Sheila opens up her own life to illustrate to us the points she is trying to get across. I have always appreciated her honesty. After each chapter is a number of questions for application as well as a study guide in the back of the book. The book is broken down into 3 major sections: 1. Heartache, 2. Warfare & 3. Community. Part 1 Heartache: We all know that this world can be cruel and has a way of shattering our dreams. This part addresses the hurts & shame that we carry with us. In todays day in age we tend to isolate ourselves and put on that mask that tells everyone that we are fine even when we are dying inside. Sheila talks about things that can put us in these situations and the lies that we believe. She also addresses the questions of if God really loved us why do bad things happen to us??  Sheila shows us that just because we are suffering, that doesn’t mean God has stopped loving us. Part 2 Warfare: In this section Sheila shows us that our battle isn’t against flesh and blood but against the devil. We need to be ready for battle and be on our guard every single minute because he is looking and waiting for ways to bring us down.  In her chapter “Dressed To Kill“. Sheila talks walks us through the whole armor of God as found in Ephesians 6. It was a good reminder to me. When I was in YWAM, I used to pray the armor of God over my body every morning in my quite time. Sometime ago for whatever reason I stopped and have completely forgotten about it. It is something I need to continue and we all should do. We need that protection each day if we are going to live for God and resist the enemy. Part 3 Community: Sheila uses this section to wake us up from our slumber and selfishness and get us investing into the lives of others. It is so important and something we in todays day and age have lost. I love community and I love the interaction but I must admit that I am selfish and times and don’t want to get into other people’s messy lives and yet that is what we were created for. We are so quick to judge and we need to be quick to offer love and grace to people. “Lord, change my heart“. Sheila says if we truly want to live the way Jesus calls us to then we need to selflessly give our lives away for others. One point that I found facinating is in chapter 15 “A Church Divided On Healing” It is the Church’s responsablity to be a healing community, bathed in grace and love, unbinding one another so that we can walk. This is so timely. At my church, New Song Christian Fellowship, last Sunday we were talking about this and how we need to be investing in the lives of those around us. We get so caught up in our hurt and pain and pull away from people. And instead of being united (as we are suppose to be) there are big gaps where people have pulled away from each other. No wonder Satan has such a foot hold. We are offering him wide gaps through which to enter! Sheila’s closing thought and the theme through out the book is Don’t Hid Your Heart”! Funny as that was the title track from her grammy nominated album in 1985. Part of the song gose: “If I tried to reach you, would you turn away and don’t hide your heart tonight. Where do you go when you’re alone and dose that smile remain on your face? Don’t hide your heart I know it hurts but here is love that can heal.” Those lyrics are just as powerful today as they where when they where written. It is a great song. This book was a great read and I would recommend it to all.

Happy New Year

Hello everyone. It has been a while since I have written. I’m not much of a New Years Resolution kind of guy but this year I am hoping to be better at writting! Well I can at least try.
I had a great Christmas and New Year at home! Happy to be home for a couple of weeks.
Starting this coming week, I will be doing Merch for Sheila Walsh’s “When A Women Trusts God” Tour. The tour is based off her new book “Beautiful Things Happen When A Women Trusts God” due out on February 16th. It will be avalible in Book, Audio Book & (I’m sure) Kindle form. Pick your copy up where ever Christian books are sold. I’m looking forward to getting back out on the road again.
Women Of Faith is making some changes to their normal schedule this year. Instead of doing one tour of around 30 dates like they have always done, they are splitting the tour in half and doing two mini tours. Because they are going on at the same time, I can only do one of them. I’m hopping for the West Coast tour but haven’t been told yet which tour I’ll be on. I will let y’all know when I know. The West Coast tour is called “Imagine” & the East Coast tour is called “Over The Top”. You can check out the schedule at: womenoffaith.com.
I have recently joined my friend’s business called “Leave Your Legacy“. It is a service for people who want to preserve their memories. We do video interviews that are put into a video presentation for families so when their loved ones pass on they can leave something behind. I have joined as the photo director. I am in charge of scanning photos, negatives and slides to discs so they can be preserved. I also do simple editing like cropping, color correction, and dust and spot removing. From there, we can do slide shows, photo books and number of other great things. If you are interested in checking out our services, check out our website at: leaveyourlegacy.org. My page is not completly done yet but will be soon.
I hope this finds you all having a great new year so far! I am. Until next time.

Hello everyone, I lost my password for a while and so I was unable to update this for some time. I have found a way to do it so I’m back in business.

Since I posted last, I have been with WOF to Atlanta, GA, Anaheim, CA, Philadelphia, PA, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Portland, OR, St. Paul, MN, & Oklahoma City, OK. I have also done two dates with Sheila Walsh in Philadelphia, PA & Parker, CO. The picture above is with Sheila Walsh in Parker, CO. Boy I didn’t realize it had been so long since I posted. This week, I’m heading to Greensboro, NC. I got to visit family in Denver and Phoenix which was great. Our tour season is winding down. I’m looking forward to having some time off the road but will miss it. Next year’s scheudle will be different as there are two 15 date tours going on and I’m not sure which one I will be on. I will also be doing a mini tour with Sheila which will be fun. Dates and places to come.
Last week, Reba & Michelle and I got to attend a TV taping for a show that will be aired this Christmas for the military over seas and at select military bases around the country. The taping took place at the Grand Ole Opery and featured Amy Grant & Take 6. It was a lot of fun. I have never been to a TV taping before.
Please say a prayer for Pasty Clairmont’s son, Marty. He is in the hospial and is not doing very well. I just pray for the family that the Lord will statain them and will be near them in this time. I pray God’s will to be done in this siutation. He knows best even when we don’t understand.

WOF in Dallas, TX

DSCN2772This last weekend we had our conference in Dallas, TX. The WOF office is in Plano, TX just north so there were a lot of office people at the conference this weekend. We also had a lot of people come in from Thomas Nelson in Nashville. Too bad I didn’t get to meet any of them. The big thing that I was excited about was getting to see Tex and her son. Tex left the WOF staff last year to give birth. Her son is so cute. It was great getting to see her. I have really missed her so much.
Another cool thing about the weekend was getting to meet actress Yvette Nicole Brown. I totally recognized her from the new Digiorno Pizza commercial. On Friday when I was in catering for lunch she sat next to me and we got talking. She has done bit parts in commercials, TV shows and movies. Check out her Internet Movie Database (IMDB) page to see what else she has done. She will be part of a new ABC show called Community. She was in Dallas shooting a video for the Revolve Tour as she will be one of the speakers. She and I had a great conversation. She came up to the concourse and visited my table. I got a picture with her. I did my sold my second highest amount of Pick-A-Pack’s this weekend. It was great! I had a great group of volunteers. See the picture below. This weekend I will be heading to Atlanta, GA. We have to drive which will be interesting to see all the scenery.
